Hello! I'm Amy and I run my own microgreens farm business from home, in Leeds, UK.
I'd got to the point in my life at age 35 where I needed a big work change. One that allowed me to work at my own pace from home, doing something I found calming and for the hours I wanted. I'd always fancied having a go at running my own business too!
That was in 2017. I'd read about microgreens in a market gardening book, got excited, grew my first trays of radish shoots, got obsessed with the process and never looked back! And as much as I love this business and industry, it definitely wasn't an easy start!
A bit more about me...
Information on setting up and successfully running a microgreens business in the UK was non-existent. I struggled through, made loads of mistakes and had sleepless nights wondering if I was doing it all right! It took me ages to get my farm properly running and making a decent profit.
Fast-forward to today and my little microgreens farm in my garden runs like clockwork, provides my full time income and I absolutely love it!

You don't. And this is something I stress regularly throughout the course. I teach a low tech, inexpensive set-up so you can get up and running quickly on a small budget
(a few hundred pounds).
Then once you start making sales, you can invest in more equipment and supplies as you go. No huge upfront costs and that's one of the many beauties of a microgreens business that you run from home.
Do I need to spend lots of money on equipment for my new business?
Right at the start of the course, you'll be setting your shorter term goals and long term vision for your business. This is when you set your financial goals too.
